Single Anastomosis Duodenoileal Bypass with Sleeve (SADI S) is a modification of Biliopancreatic Diversion with Duodenal Switch (BPD DS). It is a very effective surgery for patients with BMI ≥ 50 kg/m2. It is also a very good procedure for those suffering from obesity with uncontrolled type II diabetes. Since food is directly emptied into terminal ileum, hormonal changes are more. So it is more effective in terms of weight loss and resolution of type II diabetes compared to sleeve gastrecomy (SG), gastric bypass (RYGB, MGB) or sleeve with loop duodenojejunal bypass (SG LDJB). It is as effective as BPD DS. Since common channel length is 250 cm in malabsorption risk is less compared to BPD DS.
